What type of grease should I use on my bike?
Most general purpose bike greases seem acceptable but all lack performance data. Alternatively, automotive greases (e.g. Mobil XHP222, Motorex Bike Grease 2000) comply with industrial performance standards. Washout kills bearings, so keep degreasers and power washers away!
What is a ZERK?
Grease fittings, also known as zerk fittings or grease nipples, serve as lubrication points on bearing housings or other mechanical components. Their design provides a secure connection to a grease gun coupler for delivering precise amounts of grease into bearings and other moving systems.

Is lithium grease OK for bikes?
Ordinary lithium grease (i.e. lithium soap based grease). Dirt intrusion is the nemesis of bicycle bearings. Even worse than water intrusion. That is why it’s important to clean and re-lube bearings regularly – once, or twice a year (depending on riding conditions and mileage).
Is lithium grease good for bikes?

This grease is used on car parts and is often less expensive than true bike grease. Do not use automotive bearing grease; it is sticky and can gunk up your components.
